This Thursday, December 20th The Cut Losses will perform their final show of the year at The Biltmore Cabaret. But don’t worry, there will be many more shows and an album coming from this hot young local indie band.
The sharply dressed duo, Kayden on Guitar/Vocals and Patrick on Drums/Keyboards/Vocals, are sure to turn you into fans once you get a taste of their unique style that brings together “a thick, blues, guitar-heavy, yet melodic and ambiant front, backed by driving drum beats, and raspy vocals.” The Surrey Now describes them as a “hybrid between Nirvana and The White Stripes” while HSB Radio says they’re “The Black Keys on steroids.” Some of their most recent gigs and accomplishments include:
- Touring Penticton to play for Battle to Rock the Peach 2012 as one of British Columbia’s top 12 bands
- AMP Records top 12 bands in BC for Band Fight 2012
- Surrey’s City Jam 2012 top 5 bands and Y57 Media’s Top 10 bands
- Winners of first prize at the Vancouver Music Festival hosted by 99.3 the Fox and Supernova
Having been to some of their past performances, I can guarantee you are going to have a blast, and then hop on The Cut Losses bandwagon. Their music makes you want to rock ‘n’ roll and their badass lyrics make you want to sing. Just watching these two rockstars is such a thrill because you can see how much they love what they do. Those emotions radiate onto listeners, making the experience above and beyond expectations of a live performance.
