A staple spot in Vancouver’s party scene has revealed to Daily Hive that it plans on closing its doors next month.

The Charles Bar, located at 136 W Cordova Street, is known for its notable location on the first level of the iconic Woodward’s Building and its craft beer and televised sports events.

The Blueprint-owned concept will be shuttering on March 5. Blueprint owns and operates the Colony mini-chain in Vancouver, along with several nightclubs and liquor stores around town.

Here’s the full statement from the team:

After 10 memorable years, The Charles Bar will be closing its doors on Thursday, March 5th.

We want to thank all of our staff, and loyal regulars, for their support over the years – making The Charles Bar Gastown’s go-to destination for food, drinks, sports and music.

To show appreciation, The Charles Bar will be hosting a series of closing parties in the coming weeks. For more information, keep your eyes peeled to our social channels.

We’ll keep you posted on what’s replacing this longtime spot, so stay tuned.
