On Friday December 21st, The Blues Cafe will once again provide a sultry night of blues dancing for the deserving citizens of Vancouver, but this time with a bit of holiday cheer. The Blues Cafe opens at 10:00pm for a one hour beginner drop-in lesson at the Ache Brasil Studio (341 East Broadway). Don’t worry if you don’t know how to swing-and-groove, the hour of instruction provides all the basics you’ll need for an amazing night. Then, at 11:00pm there will be LIVE MUSIC by local blues band Melodius Maximus and four whole hours of open dance. If you are already an experienced blues dancer you can just stop by at 11:00pm. There will also be a bubble tea bar to keep you refreshed all night long!
December marks the long-anticipated return of the bubble tea counter to The Blues Cafe! They’ll have Douglas Liu, chef extraordinaire of Golden Great Wall Chinese Restaurant on Broadway, to mix some bubble tea and snacks available for just a few bucks behind the snack table.
Please be sure to wear soft soled shoes since the floors of the studio are very sensitive. If you are unsure, socks are your best option. Socks are also sold at the door for $2.
When: Friday, December 21st
Where: Ache Brasil Studio 341 East Broadway (1 block East of Kingsway/main)
Admissions: $10, with an optional suggested donation of $5 to help support live music at partner dance venues in Vancouver, like their band of the night, Melodius Maximus!
