New pub in town: Blackbird Public House and Oyster Bar

Dec 19 2017, 4:32 pm

There was a lot to celebrate last Thursday night as many Vancouverites came out to play and get their very first glimpse at the newest Donnelly family addition: The Blackbird Public House and Oyster Bar.

Guests mingled through the crowd as local Vancouver chefs, from L’Abattoir and Campagnolo restaurants, underwent a chili cook off while The Blackbird’s own Chef Alvin Pillay looked on.

The 8,800 sq. feet property will be incorporating a new menu created by Pillay himself, an almost never-ending wine list, a scotch bar and live music seven days a week. Not only will the culinary experience be different but the whole decor steers away from the usual dark spaces and feels surprisingly more mature. We loved the addition of Edison lights on the second floor tables.

During the event, the owners buzzed around making everyone feel right at home while explaining their new concept. This is a new chapter for the ever growing brand but they are going in the right direction trying to capture a different type of crowd.
