TELUS launches art competition for new headquarters

Dec 19 2017, 4:35 pm

In keeping with the TELUS team’s passion for supporting arts and culture in our communities, they have announced a new national art competition for their TELUS Garden development currently under construction in downtown Vancouver. They are inviting artists from coast-to-coast to submit a proposal to create original works that will be permanently displayed in their stunning new office tower.

Their vision is to showcase contemporary works that convey Canada’s unique story of people and places. They have chosen the theme Materials of Meaning and are challenging artists to create bold and inspiring works that incorporate innovative applications of wood, metal and textiles.

TELUS wants to work with artists from a diverse cross-section of Canadian culture and talent, as well as developing artists who show exceptional talent and whose early professional careers would benefit from a commission of this scale and exposure.

There are two categories for the art competition:

  • Category A is a $30,000 installation that will communicate our company’s incredible story through descriptive panels and be the focal point of the 4th floor TELUS Garden reception area.
  • Category B is a $45,000 outdoor installation that will be admired from our 8th floor roof deck and adjacent café.
