TELUS brings superfan to BC Lions game using the power of virtual reality

Oct 24 2017, 2:01 am

Doreen Musson is not your average B.C. Lions fan. She’s a lifelong superfan, who, in 1964, once greeted her favourite football players at the Vancouver airport decked out in black and orange streamers.

Today, Musson is no less enthusiastic about her team, but a degenerative bone disease has left the 65-year-old Chilliwack resident with limited mobility and unable to get out to a game in person.

Enter TELUS with a solution. Through the power of virtual reality, TELUS recently brought Musson back to the field and face-to-face with some of her biggest football heroes, including veterans Al Wilson and Geroy Simon.

The live 360 experience is part of the TELUS #AllConnected initiative, which uses technology to ensure everyone is able to experience the excitement and passion of the sports they love. Now you can help to keep the inspiration flowing: For every use of #AllConnected on social, TELUS will give $1 to Kidsport, an organization that provides children in need with uplifting sports connections.
