A 70-year-old North Vancouver pedestrian was struck down by an out of control skateboarder, resulting in the victim’s wrist/forearm being broken in four places.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m. on Monday in the 100 block of 15th Street West, North Vancouver.

Police attended and spoke to witnesses who confirmed that the elderly male had just safely crossed the alleyway when a skateboarder, coming out of the alley, lost control on the speed bumps. The boarder collided with the man which caused the injury.

The young person fled with his skateboard after a trite apology. The police would like to speak to the skateboarder who is described as a 16-year-old Caucasian, 5’ 8 tall, wearing a red shirt, white shorts and a red helmet.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call police at 604-985-1311, quoting file number 2014-18328.
