A vibrant and diverse community, the Renfrew Collingwood area is the perfect venue for a TED event. On Saturday, October 19, 250 lucky attendees will get the chance to hear 15 speakers and performers share their experiences and tell their stories under the theme “From Far to Here.”
Encouraging thought, discussion and play, TEDxRenfrewCollingwood has booked some incredible people to share their experiences. This includes Ann Makosinski, a 15-year-old who participated in the worldwide Google Science Fair, and Rupinder Sidhu, an interdisciplinary artist and facilitator who co-founded Metaphor, a program dedicated to bringing hip hop workshops and performances into schools, detention centres and rural communities. Slam poet Siling Zhang will also be at the event performing, after competing her first Vancouver poetry slam this summer and placing first.
Along with 15 amazing speakers and performers, the day includes lunch, snacks and post-event libations.
