Team Canada and their team with plenty of local talent has been playing the top women’s softball teams in the world at the Scotiabank Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship in Surrey, BC. Canada currently sits third behind the USA and Japan with 3 wins and 2 losses, but things can change tomorrow with two games back-to-back at 6:30 and 8:30pm at Softball City against the Australians and Team USA.

Come out and cheer on local athletes on Team Canada: #2 Paige Collings from Delta, #30 Kelsey Haberl from Burnaby, #22 Jennifer Yee from North Delta, poster girl #12 Melanie Matthews of Surrey, and 16-year old Jocelyn Cater from Delta.

As part of the ongoing Celebration of Softball events on Thursday is the Wear your Canadian Colours Contest at the Scotiabank Canadian Open for your chance to win a freestyle BMX bike courtesy of Canadian Tire.
