DH Vancouver Staff Feb 09, 2014 12:43 pm

Two men are recovering from stab wounds and one man is in custody following a dispute over a taxi in Vancouver early this morning.

Shortly after 1:30, two men flagged down a taxi at Hamilton and Davie Street. As the men were getting into the cab, a fight broke out between the two victims and two other men that claimed rights to the taxi.

During the fight, the two victims were stabbed. Paramedics attended and transported the men with serious stab wounds to the hospital.

A short distance away, police found the two other men believed to have been involved in the altercation.

One of those men, a 24-year-old from Surrey, was arrested for two counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of assault causing bodily harm.

The suspect remains in police custody. Both victims are in stable condition.
