A historic tall ship is sailing into Metro Vancouver today, and you can get up close to the massive vessel this weekend at the Burrard Dry Dock Pier.
The Norwegian tall ship Statsraad Lehmkuhl is visiting North Vancouver as part of the One Ocean Expedition, a year-long global voyage designed to inspire action to protect the world’s vast bodies of water.
According to the Royal Norwegian Embassy, One Ocean Expedition is a recognized part of the UN’s Ocean Decade.

“The main goal of the expedition is to create attention and share knowledge about the crucial role of the ocean for sustainable development in a global perspective,” said Jan-Terje Storaas of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Ottawa in a release.
“It encourages cooperation across borders for a more sustainable ocean and serves as a reminder that the ocean itself knows no borders.”
