Synchronicity Festival: Arts in the Woods on the Sunshine Coast

Dec 19 2017, 11:39 am

In barely a week’s time, Gibsons will host one of the best kept secrets on The Sunshine Coast: The Synchronicity Festival. The ‘festival in the woods’ turns this little sleepy town into an arts and music extravaganza, with over 70 musicians booked to play all weekend long.

This year, the 5th Annual Synchronicity Arts Festival will be held on August 22-24, 2014 at Shirley Macey Park in Gibsons, BC.

With over 70 musicians as part of the new MainStage Series, the return of The Rainforest Circus, our new Workshop Series, thought-provoking installations, The Community Village, local food, a Human Jukebox, a “Libation Station” featuring local brews and more, Synchronicity literally has something for everyone.

One of the most unforgettable parts of Synchronicity is the Rainforest Circus, a guided performance through the forest of Shirley Macey Park. Expect to see aerialists from the trees, hear original scores amplified from the bushes and meet clowns scampering through the underbrush; the beer garden, which will feature local beers; wandering minstrels; and curious art installations.

Festival Director Arwen MacDonald reflects on the legacy of the event: “5 years strong, Synchronicity Arts Fest has taken on a shape of its own. The Rainforest Circus will always be a highlight but it is now one of many things taking place at this little, community oriented, gracious, ever-growing festival nestled on the side of a mountain on The Sunshine Coast.”
