Swimmer dies in hospital after being rescued from Vancouver indoor pool

A person has passed away after being rescued by lifeguards at the indoor Killarney Leisure Pool on Sunday evening.

A spokesperson with the Vancouver Park Board told Daily Hive the incident took place around 7:30 pm, when lifeguards at the pool “had to perform a rescue of a swimmer.”

The swimmer was then transported to hospital, where they later died.

The spokesperson said officials are currenty unable to provide any further details on the victim or the incident itself.

“Our deepest thoughts and condolences are with the family of the victim,” said the spokesperson. “At this time we cannot provide any further details.”
