Ridge Meadows RCMP and Maple Ridge Fire Department are working together to investigate three fires that appear to be suspicious in origin.

Police and Fire Fighters were called to a home on 223 Street around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday November 13, 2013. All persons inside the home were woken up and managed to get out without any injuries, but the house sustained substantial damage.

A short time later there was a report of a fire to a home on Garden Street. Following that report, there was a third fire in a dumpster at the rear of a business in the 22500 block of the Lougheed Highway. No one was injured in the second and third incidents, and there was minimal property damage.

Corporal Alanna Dunlop said, The origins of these suspicious fires have not been established. The investigation is continuing, with both police and the fire department on scene until the early afternoon. Ridge Meadows RCMP would like to hear from anyone who was in this downtown Maple Ridge area in the early morning, and may have seen something suspicious.
