Los Angeles Kings forward Tanner Jeannot could be facing supplementary discipline after a dirty hit on Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser last night.
The NHL Department of Player Safety announced today that Jeannot will have a hearing for the collision. This means that he could face a suspension for his actions.

It’ll be just a phone hearing, per The Fourth Period’s David Pagnotta. This means that the maximum suspension is five games. He could also avoid a suspension altogether and simply receive a fine.
The hit happened in the first period when Jeannot made direct contact with Boeser’s head long after the Canucks forward had gotten rid of the puck.
It was clearly a dirty play that resulted in a match penalty for Jeannot. Boeser did not return to the contest.
The Kings forward is not a repeat offender and has never been suspended.
While they would’ve rather had their star forward on the ice, the Canucks took full advantage and scored on the five-minute power play to propel themselves to a 4-2 victory.
Jeannot has just two points in 15 games so far this year with 26 penalty minutes. Boeser is one of the NHL’s premier goalscorers and hit the 40-goal mark last year. He was off to another strong start to his season with six goals and 11 points in 12 games.
The Canucks did not provide a further update on Boeser’s status after the game.
It’s a contract year for Boeser who has found his game over the past 12 months. It would be a shame to miss so much time in such a crucial season.
“For the refs to call five minutes… it’s a dangerous hit, let’s leave it at that,” said captain Quinn Hughes postgame.
“Brock is a big part of our team, I thought guys did a nice job filling in,” said coach Rick Tocchet. “I hope Brock is OK.”
“It’s a dangerous play.”
