Vancouver Police are releasing an image from a security camera in hopes the public can help identify a person of interest regarding the sexual assault of an 85-year-old woman.

Shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 20, the woman was walking in the area of West 54th Avenue and Oak Street. She was approached from behind and sexually assaulted by a man who groped and fondled her. The man fled the area on foot and the victim returned home to call police.

The victim did not suffer any physical injuries, but she was obviously shaken as a result of the incident. The attack is very concerning and police hope that identifying this person of interest will assist in the investigation.
