Woman killed in Surrey residence early Sunday morning

An early morning altercation at a residence in Surrey’s Whalley neighbourhood has resulted in one fatality.

According to Surrey RCMP, the incident occurred at a residence in the area of 128 A Street and 101 Avenue. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance at 5:40 a.m. Sunday, and upon arriving at the scene they found a female in her 60s with life-threatening injuries.

The woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe that there was an altercation in the residence between a male and females, which resulted in the death of one woman. The suspect was arrested by police at the scene.

The investigation is still in its early stages and Metro Vancouver’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is on scene.
