Surrey Vaisakhi Parade 2016 breaks record with over 350,000 in attendance (PHOTOS)
Vaisakhi, the harvest festival of India’s Punjab region and the marker of the first solar month of the Punjabi calendar, was celebrated with a parade this weekend in Surrey. More than 350,000 people of all cultures came out on Saturday to watch the 18th annual parade, making it the largest attended event in the parade’s history.
This year’s parade featured 19 floats and Vancouverites showed up to watch performances, listen to live music, and eat delicious (free) food.
