The City of Surrey is set to kick off the Holiday season with the return of Surrey Tree Lighting Festival this month.
Taking place from from noon to 7 pm on Saturday, November 25, at City Hall Plaza, the annual event attracts over 25,000 attendees.
Alongside the tree, the event includes a Canada 150 zone, amusement rides, road hockey, a Christmas Market, ice carving demonstrations, face painting, photos with Santa, food vendors, photo booths, and even a giant snow globe.
There will also over 30 musical and family performances across four stages, with musical headliner, Ruth B.
Best of all, the action-packed event is free for the whole family.
The highlight of the show is the lighting of the giant 55-foot Christmas tree – one of the tallest in Canada – at 6:30 pm.
The event also raises funds for local charities, including Surrey Fire Fighters Adopt a Family, Surrey Food Bank and the Surrey Christmas Bureau.
