Two men have been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being shot in Surrey Tuesday evening.

Surrey RCMP said officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the Fraser Heights neighbourhood around 4:50 pm, and arrived to find the two victims.

Both were suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, and it’s believed the injuries are non-life-threatening.

Cpl. Elenore Sturko said the area around the 15900-block of 111 Avenue would be blocked off to the public while police gather evidence and information.

The Serious Crime Unit is investigating. RCMP have not said if a suspect is in custody.

“Early indications are that this was a targeted incident. While the public was placed at risk as this incident unfolded, there are no indications of a continued risk,” Sturko said in a statement.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca.
