One person dead after Friday night shooting in Surrey

Surrey RCMP and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) are investigating a shooting that left one person dead on Friday evening.

According to RCMP, police were called to the 13900 block of 58A Avenue at approximately 7:15 pm on February 1, after a report that shots were fired.

Upon arrival, an adult victim was found suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite all attempts to resuscitate them, they succumbed to their injuries.

Shortly after the shooting, RCMP was alerted to a burning vehicle in the area of King George Boulevard and Colebrook Road.

Police do not yet know if these incidents are linked.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with the Surrey RCMP Major Crime Section.
