Fraser Health closes Surrey poultry plant due to COVID-19 outbreak

Fraser Health has closed a Surrey poultry processing plant because 30 employees have tested positive for COVID-19.

The health authority declared the outbreak at Wingtat Game Bird Packers Inc. Wednesday evening, and said they’re testing more staff members to see if they’re infected.

“All employees at the facility have been screened, and case and contact management is ongoing. Those identified as cases and close contacts have been instructed to self-isolate,” it said in a news release.
