Surrey mayor takes time off following "health concern"

Surrey Mayor Doug McCallum is taking a few days off following a “health concern” over the weekend.

According to a release from the City of Surrey, McCallum “had a health concern over the weekend that required medical attention.”

The city did not specify the cause for the concern, but say that it has been addressed.

“While the issue has been addressed, on the advice of my doctor, I will be taking a few days off to rest and recuperate,” McCallum said in the release.

“I am glad to say that I will be returning to my duties in time for the Regular Council Meeting this Monday. I appreciate the concern and well wishes expressed by all.”
