Surrey man admits to killing three people

A Surrey man has pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder and one count of manslaughter.

Early last year, 34-year-old Sarbjit Bains was charged for the manslaughter death of Amritpal Saran, who was found severely burned on Colebrook Road in Surrey in February 2013.

His girlfriend was arrested and charged for indignity to Saran’s human remains and accessory after fact to death. She is currently serving a prison sentence of two years less a day plus three years of probation.

Bains also admitted to the murders of Jill Lyons and Karen Nabors – online escorts that were found dead in the same New Westminster apartment building just two weeks apart in August 2013. Both women were friends and mothers.

It was initially believed that Lyons’ death was a suicide, but Nabors’ suspicious death in the same building weeks later sparked an investigation by Metro Vancouver’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.
