Police looking for male who exposed himself to women in Surrey

DH Vancouver Staff Jun 09, 2016 12:22 pm

Police in Surrey are warning the public to be on the lookout for a man who was seen exposing himself in the Clayton Heights neighbourhood earlier today.

Both incidents occurred in the morning; the first incident happened at 9 am at 185th Street and 68th Avenue and the second incident followed shortly after at 9:20 am at 188th Street and 68th Avenue.

According to police, the man exposed himself to adult women while he was naked inside his truck. He drove up next to an adult woman to ask for directions and then drove away, but it is important to note that he did not assault nor threaten them.

The suspect has been described as a dark skinned male in his 30s with very short or shaved black hair. At the time of the incident, he was driving a newer model light brown Ford pickup without a canopy.

“If you’ve seen this truck or suspect, investigators want to talk to you right away,” said Corporal Scotty Schumann in a statement. “Improve your personal safety when walking alone by maintaining awareness of your surroundings at all times. If you’re approached by a suspicious person, take note of their descriptors, direction of travel, and call police as soon as it is safe.”

Anyone with information that could assist investigators is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers’ anonymous hotline at 1-800-222-8477.
