Man shot and killed in driveway of Surrey home Monday night

One man is dead after a shooting in the Cloverdale area of Surrey on Monday night.

Around 8:45 pm, Surrey RCMP were called to a residence in the 6300 block of 166 Street, for reports of shots fired.

Upon their arrival, officers found a man dead in the driveway of his home.

“Initial indications are that this is a targeted incident,” said Surrey RCMP Staff Sgt. Dale Carr in a statement.

Surrey RCMP Serious Crime investigators are on scene and will be assisting the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

Initial reports reveal that one vehicle – a light coloured minivan – was seen departing the area and was last seen driving east on 64th Avenue from 166 Street.

The Lower Mainland District Forensic Services Section is on scene as well and processing “numerous pieces” of evidence located at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Surrey resident, Pardeep Singh. He was known to police and had ties to gang activity, police said.
