A 6-year-old boy is dead, after drowning in the bathtub in his Surrey home on Sunday.

Just before 5 pm, Surrey RCMP attended to the scene at a home in the the 109th Ave. and University Drive neighbourhood.

Upon their arrival, they found BC Ambulance Service paramedics – along with the Surrey Fire Department – attempting to revive the child.

CPR was performed on the child for almost an hour, but attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.

The BC Coroners Office was notified and attended to the residence.

The adults who were in the home at the time “are currently being spoken to, to determine what exactly has occurred,” Surrey RCMP said in a release.

No names are being released at this time, and the incident is still currently under investigation.
