Support the Downtown Eastside at the Whole Way House Family Picnic

Dec 20 2017, 12:57 am

Nothing beats a picnic in the park with your friends and family, especially when you can enrich the lives of others in the process.

The 3rd Annual Family Picnic in the Park takes place Saturday, August 22 at the Prospect Point Picnic Area in Stanley Park, and benefits Vancouver’s Whole Way House.

The Whole Way House is a charitable organization founded by siblings Jenny and Josh Konkin. Based out of the ground floor of the Avalon Hotel, the organization seeks to combat the loneliness commons amongst residents of the Downtown Eastside, through “family dinners,” games nights, cooking classes, haircuts, and more.

Earls Restaurant will be serving slinging BBQ ribs, burgers, coleslaw, corn on the cob, watermelon, and other summer favourites. Tickets are by donation and proceeds from the event will go towards the Whole Way House.
