A Vancouver-based app company is looking to solve the problem of online dating and ‘swipe culture’ caused by Tinder and pay for 10 dream dates while their at it.
Their method is simple, people create dates they want to go on, and then people match up based on a shared interest and activity first – instead of their looks. This removes the tiresome cycle of text based flirting that may or may not turn into a subpar hook up date.
SuperDate is coming
Have you grown tired of the profile swipe grind? Got the eternal text-cycle blues? Had one too many aimless, pointless and boring lunch dates?
It’s ok. We’ve all been there. We know that online dating, in a word, sucks. So we did something about it and created the antidote to bad dating. It’s called SuperDate, and we want to make your next date super.
SuperDate wants to give away 10 SuperDates to 10 very lucky Vancouverites. To enter to win, all you have to do is tell them what your dream date is.
They’re not talking about casual after-work drinks in a dimly lit pub. Think fireworks. Backflips. Whatever. Anything you can come up – literally, the most amazing time you could possibly have with someone you want to get to know.
If could be popping champagne while rowing a canoe down Burrard Inlet, or a private game of laser tag followed up with lobster and crème brûlée.
All you have to do is sign up, share a post and tell them your idea for the ultimate first date. Then they’ll pick the 10 wildest, weirdest and most creative ideas and pick up the bill.
