Sunny weather and highs of 26°C in Metro Vancouver this week

Are we experiencing an early start to summer? More warm and sunny weather is ahead for Metro Vancouver over the coming seven days.

Environment Canada’s latest forecast indicates a strong ridge of high pressure will remain over the South Coast until at least early next week.

As a result, sunny skies will continue to hover over Metro Vancouver with temperatures reaching a high of 22°C by the water and up to 26°C within inland areas. These temperatures are far higher than the month’s average high of 17°C.

However, the conditions could lead to short periods of localized rainfall and thunderstorms for Abbotsford, Squamish and Whistler. Air-mass thunderstorms were also reported along the Sea to Sky corridor between Squamish and Whistler over the May long weekend.
