With the arrival of sunny weather, Metro Vancouverites will receive a much-needed soaking of Vitamin D.
Environment Canada forecasts four consecutive days of sunshine beginning on Sunday, although temperatures will remain relatively cool, hovering at a high of 10°C during the daytime.
The high pressure system is only expected to last until Thursday when rainfall returns to the region.
There is no snowfall in the forecast for the North Shore’s Cypress, Grouse and Seymour Mountains, which have suffered from one of the worst snow seasons in memory. All facilities at the three local ski hills are closed until further notice due to a lack of snow. Significant worker layoffs have also been reported.
Conditions at Whistler Blackcomb have also deteriorated over the last few weeks of warm and heavy wet weather, but the resort remains open as trails are still covered with a skiable layer of snow.
