This past week Little Mountain public housing demolition began. The aging buildings and poor use of available land was the catalyst for the redevelopment of this site, however, I think the developer COV sold the land to Holburn, is probably not the best choice to rebuild this project. You see Holburn still has their hands full with The Ritz Carlton tower and The Hills project in East Vancouver and I just don’t trust their management to get the job done. Make no mistake Little Mountain’s housing had run its course, what I don’t agree with is the fact it will take so long to get the project started. Why tear it down without a concrete plan to rebuild on the site? I’ll delve more into this matter some other time.
The Olympics are only a few months away and if you didn’t get your tickets yesterday don’t fret.
Apparently nobody could because the Vancouver 2010 ticket servers suck! Check back next week and be prepared to wait in the queue.
Tonight Vancouver Fashion Week concludes and I must say the organization is getting better every year. It still needs work but at least it didn’t pull a BC Fashion Week style blunder. Me thinks the two shows should merge and become one big Vancouver Fashion Week extravaganza as it makes no sense to have two competing shows. Who do we think we are Paris, Milan, New York? Let’s hope the organizers realize this or at the very least one of them can’t carry on.
Bring Peter Forsberg to the Canucks!
