Everyone knows that when going to the beach in the summer you should wear sun block, but what brands are best for the face? If you are like me and have tried countless brands and gone through some pretty unruly breakouts because they were the wrong ones, then you know how difficult it can be.
Some people need products best suited for sensitive skin, while others need products that are made for oily skin. Here are a few products that will help you on this journey to find the best sunscreen for summer, and your skin type.
Oily skin
Philosophy makes a great product that is not necessarily a sunscreen, but does have SPF 30 in it. It is called Hope Oil-Free SPF, which is a daily moisturizer. The SPF 30 in this moisturizer makes it great for protecting against the sun, however it is gentle enough to use every day as a moisturizer. It controls the oil on the face and leaves a nice invisible matte finish.
Dry skin
La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF 60 Melt-In
Sunscreen Lotion is amazing for dry skin! It keeps the face hydrated without leaving any residue and will not cause breakouts. Unlike other sunscreens, it will not get in your eyes while perspiring and will protect the face all day. The SPF 60 in it makes it a great product to take with you on a beach vacation to Hawaii, or anywhere hotter than Vancouver and it will protect your skin from the harmful effects of the sun!
Sensitive skin
La Roche-Posay Tinted Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid is great for anyone with sensitive skin. Any La Roche-Posay products are for that matter. This is a tinted sunscreen for the face with an SPF 50 that feels light and gives a sheer semi-matte finish and feels like silk on the skin. It will even out imperfections as it does have a slight tint to it and although La Roche-Posay, in my opinion, is the best line for sensitive skin, it is an amazing line for all skin types.
Other amazing products to try are Clarins UV Protect SPF 50, Lancome Bienfait UV SPF 50+, Ombrelle Face SPF 60 Ultra-Fluid Lotion and Hawaiian Tropic SPF 30 Sensitive Skin Face Lotion. When it comes to sunscreen for the body, Hawaiian Tropic is most people’s go-to brand and for good reason. They have a variety of products for different skin types and usage, even their sport sunscreen line is great.
Wear under make-up
If you’re looking for a new tool in your summer beauty kit, Ombrelle Face is a great addition. It is super absorbing meaning there is no waiting time for applying makeup.
