10 places to go berry picking around Vancouver this summer

Jun 26 2020, 10:17 pm

It’s officially summer and all the kinds of delicious berries are popping up.

While the COVID-19 has cancelled many summer events, there are still some farms in BC that will let you go berry picking during the pandemic.

Here are some of the policies enacted for picking your own berries on most farms:

  • Strict physical distancing, some may be limited to a certain row in a field.
  • No personal containers to be used, patrons must purchase from the farm. Prices and container size vary by location and range from $1.50 to $40.
  • Hand sanitizer, wipes, or handwashing facilities will be available at multiple locations
  • Picking is to be done on certain days and times for proper sanitation and physical distancing requirements.
  • Guests are encouraged not to eat the berries during picking to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Keep in mind, many of the farms across the lower mainland have these strict guidelines in place to protect employees and so that visitors can pick berries safely.
