Suika Izakaya - An introduction to Spring

Dec 19 2017, 3:28 pm

Through Fall and Winter, Vancouver endures through a mild but seemingly endless period of grey skies. With the arrival of Spring, the city begins to awaken from its hibernation as it welcomes back the sun. As temperatures gradually rise and days become longer, locals begin searching for outdoor dining experiences in anticipation of summer.

Until the end of June, Suika Izakaya is teaming up once again with VANEATS.ca to offer a Spring-themed $35 pass that includes a pitcher of mojito and three food items.

The menu

4-Item Dining Pass for $35 between May 1 to June 30, 2013

A. “Ma-Po Rice Cake“, deep fried rice cake with spicy ground pork sauce

As a means to whet the palate, this appetizer is quite enticing. The spicy ground pork sauce has a little heat but is tempered skillfully for those with sensitive appetites. With a sprinkle of fresh lemon juice, this rice cake dish is refreshing as an opening foray that leads nicely into the rest of the meal.

B. “Steak Salad“, diced & marinated AAA beef filet steaks on organic greens topped with watercress and beets

As the largest dish of the three food items, this Steak Salad can be easily shared by two adults. Served on a generous bed of fresh greens are beautiful cuts of marinated triple A beef steak. This dish is actually quite filling and serves as the primary entrée of this dining package.

C. “Salmon Battera“, sockeye salmon, salmon caviar, spicy cod roe mayo, Japanese basil, avocado shiso

This Salmon Battera dish will most likely be the favourite item amongst hungry Suika patrons. Each piece of sushi is individually flame torched before service which beautifully renders the top layer of salmon and spicy cod roe mayo. In terms of texture, flavour and composition, this aburi-style offering will appeal to anyone that orders this visually stunning dish.

D. “Magical Mojito Pitcher“, choose from watermelon, pomegranate and aloe flavours (regular price $28)

As stated earlier, the three food items are served alongside a pitcher of ‘magical’ mojito. With three flavours to choose from, this item will easily get the party started off right. Regularly priced at $28, the value of this package rests on the inclusion of this pitcher. If you are looking for a night out with good company, this is definitely a dining package you may want to consider.
