Want to do something special to help Vancouver’s less fortunate?
Well, now you can.
Non-profit organization Street Thug Barbers has set up a GoFundMe page for The Chelsea Haircare Product Line – and by donating, you’ll be helping the city’s homeless by giving them free haircuts and hair products.
Since it’s inception in 2015, Street Thug Barbers has provided more than 7,000 free haircuts to those in need in the Downtown Eastside. Amazing, right?
Now, founder of the organization, Ross Wilson has teamed up with owner of Rain Salon Victor Cuevas to create the Chelsea Haircare product line. Environmental and societal benefits are at the core of the products.
And for every bottle sold, the group will donate a bottle to someone in need.
Street Thug Barbers recognizes that cleanliness is one of the most difficult challenges of being homeless.
“The Chelsea Hair Goods will be infused with mint and tea tree oil which is a great preventer of bed bugs, lice, and also dry scalp, which we see a lot of during the days when we’re on the streets,” Ross Wilson told Daily Hive.
And by donating online, you will be contributing to the development and production of the very first batch of eco-friendly products.
But that’s not all.
With every Chelsea Haircare product sold, Street Thug Barbers will be able to provide even more support, free haircuts, and products, to those in need in the community that they help every week.
So, higher product sales means even more will be donated to those in need. And your contribution can help make it happen.

“The ultimate dream for Street Thug Barbers and Chelsea Hair Goods would be a facility that would be able to give people a feeling of being safe, but also the opportunity to grow and learn a trade, because the trade I learned as a hairdresser and barber helped me survive,” said Wilson.
