Adopt my Shop is an initiative by Daily Hive, West Coast Technology Innovation Foundation (WCTIF), and the IT in Canada collective. Find out more on how to support your local small businesses here.

Steve’s Poké Bar is a traditional Hawaiian poké spot with a laid-back, casual vibe meant to transport customers to the Pacific.

Its Signature Bowls are as punny as they are unique, like ‘Shoyu a Good Time,’ a cornucopia of corn, edamame, tobiko, pickled ginger, wakame seaweed salad, imitation crab, Hawaiian seasoning, and shoyu ahi tuna. Another favourite is the ‘A Shore Thing’ Signature Bowl, which features a mixture of the same fixings, but with spicy mayo scallops. Customers also have the option of building their own custom bowl.

All menu items are currently available for online pick-up and delivery via Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Skip the Dishes, as well as in-store takeout at select locations.

The restaurant first opened in 2017 when the founders decided to satisfy their own poké cravings and share their love of Hawaiian poké with fellow Vancouverites. The origin of this passion goes far back to when the owner (Steve Huynh) spent his life growing up between Vancouver and Honolulu.

Steve’s Poké Bar recipes were perfected from a mix of family recipes and influences from Huynh’s favourite local Hawaiian poké joints. In 2018, it was voted the best poké in Vancouver, and in 2019 and 2020, it was recognized among Yelp’s Top 10 Places to Eat in Canada.
