Stephen Colbert rewrote "O Canada" and it's hilarious (VIDEO)

Jun 10 2016, 2:21 pm

With the strong possibility that the lyrics to “O Canada” will change to be gender neutral, Stephen Colbert decided he would take matters into his own hands.

The comedian and late night talk show host completely rewrote the lyrics to our national anthem to reflect what life is like in modern-day Canada – it was mostly about maple syrup, cold weather (“that, we’re sorry aboot”), and sexy celebrities with the first name “Ryan.”

And, of course, our smoking hot prime minister.

He joked that there weren’t enough apologies in the first version, anyway (sorry, Colbert, we’re trying).

So what’s next after changing the national anthem? Colbert thinks we need to do something about Regina.

Watch the hilarity above.
