NBA stars have been flocking to Vancouver of late.

This month, a half dozen of them have been spotted in Vancouver, whether that’s for training, coaching, vacationing, or DJing.

You can put Steph Curry and his wife, Ayesha, in the vacationing category.

The NBA legend was seen in Richmond at The Flying Beaver restaurant over the weekend. Since being spotted there, it looks like the 38-year-old has ventured outside the confines of the Lower Mainland.

Ayesha posted to her 7.5 million Instagram followers, showing her and Curry kayaking up at Desolation Sound. The scenic B.C. destination is accessible only by boat, kayak, or floatplane.

The couple looked like they were having some fun, with Ayesha getting her workouts in aside from the kayak.

Desolation Sound is known for having some of the warmest waters in the Pacific Ocean, outside of Mexico. There are also minimal tides as well, since the ocean water is trapped between B.C.’s Mainland, Vancouver Island, and a number of other remote islands.

Getting to Desolation Sound is a bit of a trek. From Vancouver, visitors have to take a ferry from Horseshoe Bay to the Langdale terminal on the Sunshine Coast. Then, you have to hop on another ferry from Earl’s Cove to Saltery Bay.

From there, visitors can drive to Lund, where they can then hop on a boat, kayak, or floatplane to visit Desolation Sound and the surrounding islands.

Kudos to Curry for choosing kayak over other pricier options, considering that he’s made an estimated US$470 million in career earnings on his NBA salary alone. Heading into the 2026-27 season, Curry is signed to a one-year deal worth US$62.5 million.

Steph and Ayesha still have a month to enjoy the offseason, with Golden State Warriors training camp tipping off on Sept. 29.
