Starbucks delivery could make your fancy coffee dreams come true

Dec 19 2017, 8:39 pm

Coffee chain powerhouse Starbucks revealed late last week that in 2015 they’ll be launching a delivery service.

Few details have been made available, but we do know that it will debut in the second half of 2015, and it will be through the Starbucks mobile app.

Starbucks has “been pushing to get people to use its app as a way to build customer loyalty,” notes the Associated Press.

But before you go getting your latte-loving hopes up, so far we do know that the delivery service will be in select U.S. cities. The plan is to ultimately roll it out to the rest of the U.S. market, adds TIME, but where does that leave Canadians craving Caramel Macchiatos brought to their office desks or doorsteps?

We’ve reached out to Starbucks Canada and are waiting (thirstily!) to find out if they’ll be delivering here, too.

UPDATE: Here’s what a rep for Starbucks Canada said via email:

What we have shared is that we are driving a further step-change in customer loyalty and engagement by extending express order and pay, which is being rolled out in some US markets this year, to include food and beverage delivery in select markets during the second half of 2015. So while I can’t share whether that roll out will yet include Canada, we are excited at the idea of being able to create a standing order of Starbucks delivered hot or iced to your desk daily.
