What better place to offer your fellow Star Wars fan a proper “May the 4th be with you,” than at a space centre?

Such will be the case for those who attend the first Family Night at Vancouver’s H.R. MacMillan Space Centre, this Friday, May 4th.

The after-hours celebration of a galaxy far, far away, begins at 6:30 pm, with crafts and games.

Some of the activities on tap include Droid trivia, lightsaber making, and a showing of  “The Science of Light Sabers Fact vs Fiction” show in the Groundstation Canada Theatre.

Vancouver’s 501st Legion Outer Rim Garrison will also be stopping by to hang out and take pictures.

From 8:15 to 9 pm, there will be a planetarium light show called “Star Worlds – A look at planets in a galaxy near you.” Attendees will also have the opportunity to do some stargazing of their own, through the space centre’s telescope. The observatory will be open weather permitting.

Those who attend are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite Star Wars character.

Tickets to the event are available online and are $15 for those 18 and younger, $20 for adults.
