May the Fourth Be With You… And Also With You. Welcome to the Star Wars Church in Vancouver. This is not a new church solely dedicated to Star Wars fans, however, this Sunday St. Andrew’s-Wesley Church will be a little different.

This year, Star Wars Day (May the 4th*) falls on a Sunday, and St. Andrew’s-Wesley is wholeheartedly embracing this morality tale. On Sunday, May 4 they will have the grand organ blazing the way with majestic music from the films, an ensemble singing a commissioned Star Wars choral work, and people in costume filling the church.

The public is invited to experience church in a whole new way at 10:30 AM on Sunday, May 4. Whether you’re a believer, spiritual but not religious, or just spiritually curious, you’ll fit right in at St. Andrew’s-Wesley.

Rev. Kathryn Ransdell, the minister leading this unique service, explains: “May the 4th is a worldwide phenomenon, and it falls on a Sunday only once every 10 years. So, we thought, ‘Why not?’ We’re always looking for ways to engage people in church, and what better way to tell our faith story than through the lens of this iconic story of forces of good working to save the galaxy?”

Bring your sense of play, wear a costume if you’d like, and be ready to have modern fun in a traditional setting.
