Stanley Park Train Station Destroyed by Early Morning Fire

Dec 19 2017, 1:54 pm

Investigators are reporting that the fire that destroyed the miniature train station in Stanley Park early Friday  was deliberately set. Fire crews were able to quickly put out the fire, however, by the time they got there it was too late as the station building was already destroyed.

Thankfully the firefighters were able to contain the fire in time before it spread to the nearby trees. Our recent wet weather kept the trees damp, had this occurred during a summer heat wave the outcome could have been a lot worse.

At press time it is not known how the miniature train ride schedule will be impacted. The train had just opened for the season. The train also does limited runs during Easter, Halloween and Christmas.
