Stanley Park Seawall repairs to cost up to $50,000 after windy week

Damage to the Stanley Park Seawall from last week’s windy weather will cost the city $50,000 in repairs.

After high tides and wind caused large waves and logs to crash over the Vancouver seawalls last Friday, the city was forced to close the popular pathway for safety reasons.

Due to ongoing high tides, crews have not been able to fully assess the seawall damage, but according to a statement from Park Board manager Brian Quinn, the repairs will cost between $25,000 to $50,000.

The expensive damage did, however, make for some interesting photos and videos of the flooded seawall on Friday.
