The Brilliant! Gala in support of St. Paul's Hospital Foundation

Dec 20 2017, 1:36 am

The Brilliant! Gala in support of St. Paul’s mental health and addiction medicine programs takes place on Saturday at the Commodore Ballroom Vancouver.

Brilliant! is St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation’s signature event and brings an evening of fun, fashion and frolic in support of mental health and addiction medicine programs at St. Paul’s Hospital.

The event came to life through a grateful patient, Dean Thullner, to recognize the hospital and give back for the care he received after being diagnosed as HIV-positive. He benefitted from both St. Paul’s HIV/AIDS and mental health programs.

Over the last two years, Brilliant! has raised $600,000 in support of St. Paul’s mental health and related programs. Funds raised this year will help ensure patients with mental health and addiction issues have improved access to the right care in the right place at the right time through outreach supports and intensive treatment and reduce ER congestion.

This year features a fairy tale themed evening, featuring modern interpretations of 18 classic fables, including a runway extravaganza of fashion and dance. The night will be Emceed by TV personality Fiona Forbes, with a live auction featuring seasoned auctioneer, Howard Blank and then capped off with dancing to a set by DJ Leanne.

Nearly three hundred of Vancouver’s most fashion-forward designers, hairstylists, make-up artists, models and dancers, all volunteering their time and talent to bring St. Paul’s Brilliant! to life.
