Squamish Valley Music Festival: Bear Mountain

Dec 19 2017, 3:15 pm

SQUAMISH TRACK THURSDAY! In the lead up to the Squamish Valley Music Festival, each Thursday I will be sharing a track from an artist on the line up. This week, I give you: Two Step by Bear Mountain.

Bear Mountain describe their style as “electro/dance style with syncopated bass lines and arpeggiated synth chords, live instrumentation and soaring vocals” which sounds like a pretty good time, if you ask me. These local boys are hitting the festival scene hard this year – They just finished a stint at SXSW and this summer you will be able to catch them at Sasquatch, Squamish Valley Music Fest and The Governor’s Ball music festival in New York.

This song feels perfect for a kitchen dance party or a care-free summer road trip. It also samples dialogue from Rhett Butler, one of the most badass characters in film/literary history. “You should be kissed. And often. And by someone who knows how.” If you don’t get that reference then I can’t help you.

P.S If you dig this sound, Bear Mountain are playing a show TONIGHT at the Biltmore
