Grab those skates, it’s time for a road trip into the Rockies.

Spray Lakes Reservoir is like an ice rink straight out of your wildest dreams – surrounded by picturesque mountains, reflecting the stunningly clear skies, and offering an expansive skate in any direction, it’s no wonder that the pictures of this place look somewhat unbelievable.

With a surface area of over 19 square kilometres the beauty of this frozen lake extends nearly into the horizon.

No human could ever hope to recreate this type of winter magic – so you’d better get out there while you can.

Spray Lakes reservoir is located just south of Canmore in Alberta; a quick two hour drive from Calgary, or a solid 11 hour road trip from Vancouver.
