Sports Day For Grown-Ups!

Dec 19 2017, 12:34 pm

As a kid sports day used to be my favourite day of the year. So when I heard about Sports Day 4 Grown Ups I was intrigued, I mean who doesn’t like a good tug o’ war match every now and then. Team up with family, friends, and coworkers to compete at Sports Day 4 Grown-Ups to win proceeds for a non-profit organization. The event will take place at SFU Burnaby on August 28th, from 10AM – 3PM.

Info and registration at www.myloudspeaker.ca/sportsday

This is a not-for-profit event held to raise awareness of the different non-profits associated with each division. We hope to build community and collaborations across various groups of people through sweet and simple old-school fun.
There will be four divisions: red, green, blue, yellow. Each division will represent one non-profit organizations, Seva Canada Foundation, Muscular Dystrophy Canada, ABC Life Literacy and Global Agents for Change. Each division is composed of 5 teams of 5 to 7 members made up of friends, family, and coworkers. The teams will rotate between games stations and each station will award a gold (3 pts), silver (2 pts) and bronze (1pt) medal for winning teams.

The event will be executed the same as elementary school sports days, except with more difficult games and activities. For bonus points, there will be a TUG O’ WAR round at the very end, where all four colours will have the opportunity to gain 5 extra points.

The goal of the day is to have your division/non-profit organization gather as many points as possible. The division that wins will award their non-profit organization 50% of event’s proceeds.

This event is hosted by The Product and My Loud Speaker. Sponsors include SFU Volunteer Services and NAAAP Vancouver
