One of the first new major retailers at The Amazing Brentwood shopping mall is set to open its doors next week.
Sporting Life has announced that its new 36,000-sq-ft store within the newly-built retail portion of the major mixed-use redevelopment, next to SkyTrain’s Brentwood Station, will open on Thursday, November 7.

The upscale outdoor apparel and equipment company offers brands such as Arc’teryx, Canada Goose, Moncler, Hugo Boss, and Nike, among others, plus gear for skiing, tennis, and cycling. The chain currently has about a dozen locations across the country.
The first phase of the 28-acre redevelopment opens this fall, with retailers and restaurants gradually moving in and opening up their businesses from now through the end of Spring 2020. There will be both new indoor and outdoor retail.
Confirmed businesses include Adidas, Nike, Wilfred by Aritzia, and a two-level H&M flagship store — complete with the H&M Home collection — as well as Steve Nash Fitness World, a boutique food court, two-storey flagship Cactus Club Cafe, Small Victory cafe, and an innovative Starbucks Reserve pavilion and McDonalds restaurant perched over each other.
One of the mall’s largest attractions, the Cineplex Rec Room entertainment centre, contains five VIP auditoriums, three eateries such as a sports bar and upscale casual restaurant, a bowling alley, and over 100 arcade games and simulators. The 64,700-sq-ft Cineplex complex spanning over two upper levels will open by summer of next year.
The redevelopment will be built over four phases, featuring over 250 stores and restaurants within 1.1 million sq. ft. of retail space (double the existing retail) 11 residential towers with over 6,000 homes combined.
The indoor mall galleria portion of the old shopping mall complex remains open at this time.
