On Saturday, October 14, art lovers and party-goers alike will descend on the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver for Splash, Arts Umbrella’s annual art auction and gala.
Now celebrating its 35th anniversary, Splash is the must-attend event of the fall, raising funds to help Arts Umbrella bring arts programming to vulnerable young people in neighbourhoods across Metro Vancouver.
Each year Splash features works generously donated by close to 100 prominent BC artists. The artwork is an eclectic mix of mediums and styles, providing art collectors with a unique opportunity to bid on diverse pieces at a single event.
This year’s collection includes stunning works by celebrated artists including Douglas Coupland, Jeff Wall, Ian Wallace, Andrew Dadson, Bobbie Burgers and Andy Dixon, among others. Arts Umbrella is also pleased to be partnering with luxury jeweller David Yurman, who will be donating a stunning signature Pavéflex diamond bracelet as the raffle prize at the event.
Co-Chaired by Christie Darbyshire and Bruce Munro Wright, Splash will be hosted by CBC personalities Gloria Macarenko and Fred Lee, and feature live performances by the Arts Umbrella Dance Company and Pre Professional Theatre Troupe. Leading the coveted live auction will be Canadian multimedia contemporary artist, curator, and cultural leader, Hank Bull.
Following the live auction the party gets into full swing at the Splash After-Party, where guests will dance the night away to the musical stylings of DJ Chloé.
